Packed lunches are a great way to show off your culinary prowess and to experiment with new ways of packing a lot of flavour into a small box. Whether you’re looking for packed lunch ideas for adults or children, these lunch box ideas are full to the brim with happy little tricks to provide the perfect lunchtime pick-me-up.

Healthy packed lunch ideas can include so much more than sandwiches, fruit, and carrot sticks. Cooking with me means you can achieve maximum flavours while avoiding the unhealthy additions that come with a lot of the usual lunchtime favourites.

Why not whip up some Shammi Kebabs, pop in a Samosa and maybe finish off with a tasty Dhokla to round the whole thing off?

As a mum I know how difficult it can be to continually come up with interesting packed lunch ideas for kids. If we work together we can prepare a delicious range of treats and snacks to fill your children’s tummies (and yours too!).

View all Party Food

Whether you’re celebrating one of the myriad Indian festivals, having a family gathering, or just getting friends together for a knees-up, Indian food and party food are life-long bedfellows.

For me, Indian party food is about so much more than just taste. It’s about colour and vibrancy, big flavours in small packages and everyone coming together (and maybe also about fighting over the last Pakora or Samosa).

If you’re looking for some party food ideas, you can choose how challenging you want your time in the kitchen to be. Among these pages you’ll find some quick and simple starters you can serve up as part of a no-fuss platter, or some more adventurous dishes that will really show-off your culinary skills and impress your guests.

For delicious party food recipes that will kick start your party, allow me to take away some of the pressure and guide you through the entire process.

View all Picnic

When thinking up picnic food ideas it’s unlikely that Indian cuisine would spring to mind. Who wants to awkwardly scoop up cold tikka masala and clumpy rice out from a Tupperware using a corner of day old naan? The thing is, Indian food is much more diverse than the curry house standards you might have come to expect.

In fact, most Indian starters are delicious eaten hot or cold. For instance, cold samosas and pakoras have been happily served with a side of tomato ketchup (!) in Indian households throughout the world, with no complaints. Meat dishes like my Seekh, Shammi and Chapli kebabs work perfectly too – try serving them up with one of my Raita yoghurt dips.

For more picnic recipes check out my salads section. Kachumber is a deliciously fresh and zesty salad made with tomatoes, onions, cucumber, coriander and lemon - s simple to make and utterly delicious.

Finally, ditch that boring squash and warm beer for one of my delicious fruit and yoghurt lassis…and just add a shot of dark rum to my Mango Lassi to make a deliciously naughty adult version!
