I love a fish pie, it's creamy and soft and a great way to get lots of different types of fish (or seafood) into your diet.
I always found myself eating this with dollops of chilli sauces so I decided to tweak my pie recipe by adding a few choice Indian spices to compliment the fish and reduce my need to reach for the chilli sauce.
So thats how my very Indian Indian fish pie came into being. It's made with white fish and a little smoked fish for earthiness, prawns for sweetness and of course some spinach, well because it's good for you, but you can use whichever fish is fresh. The other key difference is that I like it topped with sweet potato and chilli flakes because it works really well with the spices and a new dimension too.
