This makes a lovely wintery alternative to mulled wine.
Hari says
A little less cloying than wine and usually less alcoholic - so you can enjoy more of it. Very comforting, very warming and as it's made from apples, it has to be good for you!
- Ingredients
- Method
- 1 litre cider
- 4 tbsp honey
- 1 orange, peel only
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 10 whole cloves
- 2 tsp ground allspice
- generous splash of brandy
Method
- Put all the ingredients into a saucepan and heat slowly. Stir and leave to simmer very gently for 20 minutes so the spices infuse into the cider. Stir occasionally and don't let it boil.
- After 20 minutes ladle into mugs and enjoy
