Simple to cook these are my favourite crispy wings. If you want to add a buffalo sauce just mix the wings with the spice mix. Then mix equal amounts of butter and a chilli sauce and bake.

Hari says

We all love crispy, spicy little chicken wings and these are so easy to throw together you will never need to get a KFC bucket ever again. Lightly dusted with flour and some spicy flavourings these wings can either be baked in the oven if you are feeling healthy or deep fried for extra crispiness. Enjoy!

  • Ingredients
  • Method
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp chilli powder, or to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 10 chicken wings, skin on

Method

Spice mix

  1. Prep the wings by removing the tip and cutting at the joint. Leave the skin on.
  2. Mix all the spices with the flour in a bowl and coat the wings really well.
  3. Shake and set to one side.

To bake

  1. Preheat oven to 200 °C.
  2. Line a baking tray with foil and spread it with the butter.
  3. Place the wings on top and cook for about 15 minutes. Turn them over and cook for another 10 minutes or until crisp and cooked through.

To fry

  1. Heat your oil to 180°C.
  2. Fry the chicken until it's crisp and cooked through - about 10 minutes.
